Unity. Relief. Recovery.
Born in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Valley Hope Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established to provide direct assistance to the families and communities of the Swannanoa River Valley.
Our mission is to restore hope and rebuild lives in North Carolina and surrounding communities by providing vital assistance, fostering community collaboration, and promoting preparedness for future disasters.
Help us Change Lives
We are a locally owned and operated Non-Profit - our entire team lives here in Western North Carolina. Right now, we need your support to rebuild the place we call home - every single dollar given goes directly to material aid and rebuilding efforts in our community.
Please consider donating to our cause and volunteering with us! Additionally, check out our Disaster Supply Sites directory below for a list of organizations to which we dispatch aid, direct resources, and provide support for following humanitarian disasters.
Aid Distribution
Since September 27th, 2024 we have processed and delivered an estimated $4.9 million of aid and vital supplies. We dispatch urgently needed goods and supplies to 41 Counties across the Southeast, and in partnership with America Cares we dispatch fresh food and produce to approximately 4,300 families per week.
Recovery and Relief
In the days and weeks after the storm, we coordinated hundreds of evacuation and access restoration missions to communities cut off from road access. Partnered with local, state and federal agencies, in both the public and private sector, we have delivered over 250,000 gallons of potable water, and tens of thousands of meals across the community.
Housing and ShElters
With thousands of families displaced from their homes by the storm, we have been able to provide both temporary and permanent housing solutions to residents of the Swannanoa River valley. We continue to provide building materials and facilitate infrastructure development efforts throughout Buncombe County.
